The Art Behind Siti LLC: Original Prints and Hand-Painted Figurines by JD Barth

·JD Barth / Siti LLC

There's a version of art that lives in galleries behind velvet ropes. And then there's the kind that gets made at a desk at 2am, driven by something you can't quite explain — a need to get the image out of your head and onto paper.

JD Barth makes the second kind.

JD Barth

Who Is JD Barth?

JD Barth is an artist, musician, and filmmaker based in Catonsville, Maryland. He's been drawing, painting, and creating for most of his life — not because it's a career strategy, but because it's how he processes the world. Music, film, and visual art aren't separate disciplines for him. They're the same impulse, expressed in different forms.

Siti LLC is where that work finds its home.

The Prints

The portrait prints are where most people start. Jerry Garcia. John Lennon. Bob Marley. Bono. Paul McCartney. The Velvet Underground. Jesus "The Passion." Each one is an original hand-drawn work — not a photograph, not a digital render. Pencil, ink, and time.

What makes them worth owning isn't just the subject. It's the specificity of the line work. The way a portrait captures something about a person that a photograph can't — the feeling of who they were, not just what they looked like.

The landscape prints are a different kind of work. Aruba. Rough Seas. Ellicott City. Boats at harbor. These are places JD has been, scenes that stuck with him. They're quieter than the portraits, but no less precise.

All prints are 8½ × 11 inches — sized to frame, sized to live on a wall.

The Figurines

The 3D figurines are something else entirely. Hand-painted Jerry Garcia. The Dancing Bear. The Stealie Bear. Dragon Bowls. These aren't mass-produced collectibles. Each one is printed and painted by hand, which means each one is slightly different from the last.

If you're a Grateful Dead fan, you already know what the Stealie means. If you're not, you'll still recognize the craft in a hand-painted figurine that someone spent real time on.

The Dragon Bowls are functional art — decorative pieces that also happen to be useful. The ash tray is the same idea: something you'd actually use, made to look like it belongs somewhere intentional.

Why It Matters

There's a lot of art for sale on the internet. Most of it is algorithmically optimized, trend-chasing, and designed to look good in a thumbnail. Siti LLC is the opposite of that.

Every piece in the store is something JD made because he wanted to make it. The music icons he drew are icons he actually cares about. The landscapes are places that meant something to him. The figurines are characters from a culture he's been part of for years.

That's not a marketing angle. It's just the truth about how this work gets made.
